About Max Life AI Works

Established in the year 2000, Max Life Insurance is currently one of the largest private life Insurer and the largest non-bank Life Insurer in India. It is a subsidiary of the publicly listed Max Financial Services Limited and joint venture between Max India Ltd and Axis Bank.


‘AI Works’ is a specialized unit within Max Life, to leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to solve complex business problems across the insurance value chain. We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic for an exciting, fast-paced work environment and have a strong personal interest in learning, researching, and creating cutting edge AI solutions which make high business impact.


As part of ‘AI Works’ team, you would focus on conceptualizing, developing and deploying Artificial Intelligence based solutions across life insurance value chain to support, sustain and enhance Max Life’s Business.


Desired Qualification & Expertise

Education:

MBA, or master’s degree in quantitative fields like mathematics, computer science, engineering, statistics, economics etc.

Experience:

Minimum of 12 years of work experience in analytical roles, with 5 years of experience in a customer-oriented consulting position.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Advocating for and consistently fostering an organizational grasp of AI/ML capabilities. Collaborate with executive leadership to grasp business workflows and recommend strategic AI/ML applications to improve business results.
  • Serve as a visionary partner, collaborating with functional leaders to comprehend and address their portfolio's challenges in management and growth.
  • Convert business issues and hypotheses into analytical challenges, applying AI/ML methods to craft solutions that advance strategic projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the Generative AI initiative at Max Life.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with various cross-sectoral and academic groups to gain external insights, explore groundbreaking methodologies, and share our achievements.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to leads and team members throughout project implementation, from the initial concept to development, rollout, and ongoing evaluation.
  • Manage and cultivate a robust team capable of evolving into future business-oriented problem-solvers, with a strong emphasis on solution delivery, constant education, and experimentation.

External – Partners, cross-industry / academia forums

Key Competencies/Skills

  • Effective team player known for the ability to inspire new perspectives and tackle traditional ideas.
  • Outstanding skill in managing numerous tasks and setting priorities.
  • Proven enthusiasm for artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science.
  • Well-versed in machine learning methods (such as XGBoost, Deep Learning, NLP) and their practical uses.
  • Familiarity with a range of open-source platforms and technologies like Python, R, Spark, as well as ML/DL frameworks including TensorFlow, Keras, AutoML, PyTorch, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of innovative cloud technologies and services related to Vision AI, Text AI, and Speech AI.
