As the Wine Sommelier at Fairmont Mumbai youwill be responsible for curating and managing our wine collectionproviding expert wine recommendations and delivering an exceptionalwine experience for our guests. You will work closely with ourculinary team to create perfect wine pairings and contribute to arefined and sophisticated diningenvironment.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • WineSelection and Curation: Develop and maintain adiverse and highquality wine list including rare and uniqueselections. Establish and manage relationships with wine suppliersanddistributors.

  • GuestExperience: Offer personalized wine recommendationsand pairings based on guest preferences dining choices andoccasions. Conduct wine tastings and educational sessions forguests enhancing their understanding and appreciation ofwine.

  • StaffTraining: Train restaurant and service staff on wineknowledge tasting techniques and proper service standards to ensurea consistent and highquality wineexperience.

  • WineService: Oversee the proper storage handling andpresentation of wines. Ensure that all wine service procedures arefollowed meticulously from opening and pouring to serving at thecorrecttemperature.

  • QualityControl: Monitor and maintain the quality andcondition of the wine inventory. Address any issues related to wineservice and make recommendations forimprovements.

  • Eventsand Promotions: Plan and execute winerelated eventspromotions and collaborations to enhance the visibility and appealof our wineofferings.

  • GuestFeedback: Collect and analyze guest feedbackregarding wine service and make recommendations for enhancementsbased on guest preferences and industrytrends.


Qualifications:

  • Provenexperience as a Wine Sommelier or in a similar role within a luxuryhospitality environment.
  • Extensive knowledge ofvarious wine regions varietals and vintages as well as wine tastingand pairing techniques.
  • Strong communicationand interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and educateguests effectively.
  • Experience in stafftraining and development.
  • Attention to detailand a commitment to delivering highqualityservice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in adynamic and fastpacedenvironment.
  • Certification or formal trainingfrom a recognized wine education institution (e.g. WSET CMS) ispreferred.
