Job Description

As a Sake and Wine Sommelier, you will be responsible for curating, managing, and promoting our extensive selection of sake and wines. You will work closely with the culinary team to create pairings that elevate our guests' dining experience, educate our team and guests on our beverage offerings, and provide expert recommendations based on guests’ tastes and preferences.

Key Responsibilities

Sake and Wine Selection: Curate an extensive sake and wine list, collaborating with suppliers to source unique and quality beverages that complement our Japanese cuisine.

Guest Service and Pairing: Provide expert guidance on sake and wine pairings for different dishes, enhancing the guests' dining experience.

Staff Training: Conduct training sessions for the front-of-house team to improve their knowledge of sake and wine, enabling them to confidently engage with guests.

Inventory and Quality Control: Manage stock levels, perform regular inventory checks, and ensure the quality of all stored sake and wine.

Guest Engagement: Interact with guests to understand their preferences, recommend pairings, and promote the beverage program.

Menu Development: Collaborate with chefs to develop seasonal and special pairing menus that showcase our sake and wine selections.

Requirements

Certification: Professional certification in wine and sake (e.g., WSET, Sake Sommelier Association) is preferred.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a sommelier in a fine-dining setting, with a focus on Japanese cuisine preferred.

Passion and Knowledge: Strong passion for sake and wine with in-depth knowledge of Japanese sake and various wine styles.

Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage and educate both guests and team members.

Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining high standards in beverage presentation and service.
