WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Regional Practice Area Manager within BCG’s Operations Practice Area (PA), you will be a key thought partner, supporting regional leadership in setting the strategic agenda and defining implementation activities for the business. Additionally, you will provide ad hoc support for priority initiatives across the PA. Collaborating closely with PA leadership, you will drive coordination and development of the PA business in Asia Pacific. Your responsibilities will include managing the creation and facilitation of the people plan, and supporting Regional PALs on people, business, events, and communications topics. Furthermore, you will engage in business analysis and planning, reporting, internal communication, and affiliation activities. You will occasionally provide inputs to the Practice's Marketing Senior Director to plan publications, and internal and external events for the PA in the region. Regional Leadership Support:
  • Together with the Regional Leadership team – develop an annual plan, set priorities, and guide implementation/ tracking of progress
Business Reporting:
  • Own end-to-end ongoing and ad-hoc business reporting needs for the region
  • Establish ongoing, early visibility on commercial pipeline using Client view
Affiliation, engagement, communications, and meetings:
  • Lead regional marketing activities including internal communications (e.g., regional newsletter, other regional Practice Area leader communications, etc.)
  • Work with leadership to set agenda for and develop communication for OPS affiliates in the region
  • Drive planning for AP OPS leadership and regional meetings including OPS sessions at functional conferences in AP and Global OPS Meetings
  • Project manage affiliation events in the region; Regularly take the pulse on people issues
Other:
  • Work with the OPS Marketing team to define the AP OPS marketing agenda and its activation in the region
  • Lead one global practice area work stream in collaboration with other regional managers such as People processes, Commercialization, or Business Insights
  • When necessary, contribute to OPS practice area projects globally

YOU'RE GOOD AT

  • Earning the respect of a very senior cohort, all Managing Directors, that are remotely located, juggling the various priorities and viewpoints of the Leadership Team members, showing influence to compile inputs and opinions from the Leadership Team members, while still meeting demanding deadlines
  • Operating effectively in a matrix organization with the ability to prioritize and make decisions
  • Complex project management with the ability to multi-task and drive advanced strategic analysis (beyond data) and leverage results for impact
  • Working closely to develop and enhance people initiatives – developing a plan to manage the people networks and support the success of consultants with the practice involvement
  • Affiliation, communication, and training - organizing internal/ external events and calls, developing agendas for meetings and preparing communication, coordinating calls, Virtual Training, LAB activities, own sector platforms, and developing all sector internal communications/newsletters regularly.
  • Working independently to identify the need for, scope, gain endorsement, and drive implementation of commercially impactful initiatives
  • Leading others including senior business leaders in clarifying problems and developing solutions by building cross-PA partnerships - building consensus, persuading, and influencing.
  • Motivating others to deliver the highest standards, providing direction, mentoring, and coaching.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Ability to manage and drive area of accountabilities, contributing to higher level agenda setting
  • Ability to lead more complex, broader sub-functional teams or projects fully independently
  • Ability to resolve complex issues and non-defined problems autonomously, with full business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal skills, credibility
  • Ability to influence senior members of the PA and beyond
  • Ability to respect sensitive client, BCG, and people-related information as personal and confidential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge in Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel

You will work closely with the Global Practice Management Senior Director, the Regional Practice Area Leaders, and their leadership teams when setting the strategic agenda and driving implementation. For additional tasks, you will collaborate with the PA’s global team of Practice Area Coordinators, Regional Managers, Product & Topic Managers. Further interfaces exist with other global, and regional BCG functions and teams as needed
