As the Director of Events you will beassisting the Director of Sales & Marketing to achievesuperior business results in the areas of ensuring outstandingguest service team member engagement favorable financial outcomesstrategic leadership and talent development culture innovation andeventoperations.
- Consistentlyoffer professional friendly and engagingservice.
- Manage all activity relatedto the Event Sales & Services Office; ensuring all servicestandards are followed.
- Ensure theHealth & Safety standards as well as departmental policiesand procedures are complied with.
- organizationand supervision of assigned conventions and catering events;ensuring that group resumes conference agendas event orders etc areprepared and distributed accurately and efficiently to ensureoperational success.
- preparing annual budgetfor approval.
- developing annual business andmarketing plans for the department.
- preparingmonthly forecasts and departmental budgets ensuring accuracy andachievement.
- Attend/lead necessary meetingswithin hotel that effect/are effected by the Event Sales &Services department.
- Plans and executes complexgroup events such a full or partial hotel buyouts as assigned bythe reporting manager.
- Conduct any/all siteinspections as required.
- Handle appropriatefile workload; setting the example for departmentalcolleagues.
- Establish and maintain rapport withclients prior to during and post conference exceeding theirexpectations and encouraging repeatbusiness.
- Drive function spaceoptimization/maximization to ensure best utilization of space forguest experience and financial performance ofdepartment.
- Play active role in local communitythrough associations memberships and involvement. Be anambassador of the hotel within the localcommunity.
- Handling departmental recruitmenthiring and onboarding of new teammembers
- Inspire highperforming multiculturalmultigenerational teams that build the ACCOR Events talentpipeline.
- Lead with ACCOR cultureengaging with Team Members through direct and meaningfulinteractions.
- Motivate and provide awork environment in which team members areproductive.
- Listen and respond toteam members needs while having an opendoorpolicy.
- Manages group andinterpersonal conflicteffectively.
Qualifications:
Yourexperience and skillsinclude:
- 6 years ofhotel event planning experiencerequired.
- Positive and expert problemsolver.
- Hospitality Business degreepreferred.
- Able to work inhighpressure environment.
- Creative andpassionate about events and customerservice
- Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills; a teamplayer/mentor
