Job Summary:

The Director of Event Operations will be responsible for assisting the Director of Sales & Marketing in achieving superior business results in the areas of guest service, team member engagement, financial outcomes, strategic leadership, and talent development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests.
  • Manage all activity related to the Event Sales & Services Office, ensuring all service standards are followed.
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards and departmental policies are complied with.
  • Organize and supervise assigned conventions and catering events, ensuring accurate and efficient preparation and distribution of group resumes, conference agendas, and event orders.
  • Prepare annual budgets for approval.
  • Develop annual business and marketing plans for the department.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts and departmental budgets, ensuring accuracy and achievement.
  • Attend and lead necessary meetings within the hotel that affect the Event Sales & Services department.
  • Plan and execute complex group events, such as full or partial hotel buyouts, as assigned by the reporting manager.
  • Conduct site inspections as required.
  • Handle file workload, setting an example for departmental colleagues.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with clients prior to, during, and post-conference, exceeding their expectations and encouraging repeat business.
  • Drive function space optimization and maximization to ensure best utilization of space for guest experience and financial performance of the department.
  • Play an active role in the local community through associations, memberships, and involvement, serving as an ambassador of the hotel within the local community.
  • Handle departmental recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Inspire high-performing, multicultural, multigenerational teams that build the ACCOR Events talent pipeline.
  • Lead with ACCOR culture, engaging with Team Members through direct and meaningful interactions.
  • Motivate and provide a work environment in which team members are productive.
  • Listen and respond to team members' needs while having an open-door policy.
  • Manage group and interpersonal conflicts effectively.

Qualifications:

You will need:

  • 6 years of hotel event planning experience.
  • A positive and expert problem-solver.
  • A Hospitality Business degree, preferred.
  • The ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Creativity and passion for events and customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a team player/mentor mindset.

Work Environment:

No remote work.
