Join our MEP – Tunnels and Underground Structures team in Gurgaon
We are part of the Tunnels and Underground Structures (TUS) department as part of COWI's Transportation Business Line, consisting of more than enthusiastic colleagues working from India. We have our clients and projects spread across Scandinavia, Singapore, North America and UK locations. We have a proven history of making underground tunnels, metros, immersed tunnels, shafts and pumping stations. COWI's TUS team is rapidly growing and that is why we are looking for an Engineer-Plumbing and Firefighting .

Your key responsibilities will be:

Design of plumbing, fire protection systems and deliverables, including concept design, schematic design, design development, tender design/documentation (including technical specifications, technical report, BOQ, schedules and drawings) MEP co-ordination, schematic, drawings preparation, equipment selection and sizing Design and calculation of cold water and hot water systems in the metro/tunnel/Building projects: distribution pipes, pumps, pressure loss calculations, distribution systems (sizing, valves, pumps etc.), water heating systems, water storage systems and water demand calculations Design of drainage system (sewage and storm water) in the buildings, gravity & pumped head loss calculations Design and calculation of fire water, automatic sprinkler systems design, fire hoses, wet & dry risers, gas separation system for metro and tunnel project Undertaking fire design as per local and international standards, including Canada, Middle East, European and UK region Delivering to the project Quality, Time, and Budget requirements Conducting peer reviews of plumbing and fire protection designs system and producing technical review reports Coordinating with all other disciplines such as Architecture, Civil and Structural

Moreover, you will have:

A Bachelors/Master's in mechanical engineering with 3 – 5 years of experience in MEP services preferably for underground structures, metros and tunnels In-depth knowledge of appropriate plumbing & fire systems Experience in HVAC would be an added advantage Experience of working independently on various calculations and layouts/schematic mark-ups Experience to prepare plumbing and fire protection design documentation and calculation sheets Hands on experience on softwares like pipenet (pipe size calculation) and elite (fire calculation) to carryout system calculations Experience on hydraulic calculations and process design for treatment plants will be preferred Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and delivering projects using BIM skills Detailed knowledge of IPC, BS, UPC, NBC, ISO codes and NFPA standards Hands on experience on BIM and Navisworks, particularly to place the major equipment’s and main route for the pipes to carry out the spatial planning Good communication and interpersonal skills
