Role Summary:
Partners with Engineering and Product people managers to support org design, talent strategy, and leadership effectiveness. Implements people initiatives, tailoring them to specific teams. Acts as a trusted advisor to managers, enabling team growth, engagement, and retention.
Excels in breaking down complex tasks and projects using a systematic, first-principles approach to solve problems. Collaborate deeply, prioritise effectively, and take accountability for results, demonstrating problem-solving skills.
This is a remote-first role, but the candidate is required to be based in Mumbai, with periodic in-office presence for cadences, meetings, and other keyevents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnering:
Act as a strategic thought partner to Engineering and Product Managers, providing guidance on team effectiveness, talent planning, and organisational growth. Align team-level initiatives to company-wide vision and anticipate future challenges, design proactive, data-informed strategies that support long-term business goals.
- People Strategy
Execution:
Localise and implement cohort-level strategies such as performance calibration, workforce planning, and org design changes. Empower and enable business teams with structured frameworks to approach people challenges systematically and independently.
- Talent & Performance Management:
Partner with your Manager and lead the performance management process for assigned teams, including PEP, talent reviews, and promotion calibration. Ensure process awareness and alignment with business performance. Offer developmental feedback to managers and ICs to enhance their effectiveness and coach them toward their potential.
- Org Health & Analytics:
Analyse and interpret data on attrition, time off usage, eNPS, and other indicators. Use insights to influence actions and shape team-level interventions. Drive prioritisation and planning conversations, taking accountability for outcomes of key people initiatives and resolving misalignment or disagreement constructively.
- Manager & Employee
Coaching:Provide high-touch coaching to ICs, Leads, and Sr. Leads. Guide managers through crucial conversations, development planning, and employee lifecycle events.
- Engagement & Retention:
Champion engagement initiatives through focus groups, surveys, and team check-ins. Design and lead retention strategies in collaboration with business and COEs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with TMOD, Total Rewards, and other COEs to align programs with the evolving needs of Product and Engineering functions (e.g. career frameworks, internal mobility).
- Employee Relations:
Manage sensitive employee matters and investigations with discretion. Proactively address potential issues to preserve team trust and company culture.
- Talent Acquisition Support:
Participate in interviews (L1-L7 levels) to help drive the right talent density within Engineering &
Product.
Experience Required:
- 10 years in HR with at least 6 years as an Tech HRBP.
- Strong background supporting Product, Engineering, or Tech functions in SaaS or IT Product companies.
- Proven track record across the employee lifecycle (onboarding to exit) and in coaching senior ICs and managers.
