We are looking for an IT Application Support Specialist to provide technical support for healthcare applications such as Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and other clinical software. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of computer paradigms, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues efficiently. This role involves 24/7 support, which will be managed through shift-based coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical support for healthcare applications (LIS, HIS, and other medical software) to ensure smooth operation in hospital and laboratory environments.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues, escalating to development teams or vendors when necessary.

Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues before they impact users.

Work closely with internal teams, including IT, infrastructure, and database administrators, to support system integrations and updates.

Assist in software installation, configuration, and maintenance for end users.

Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and best practices to improve support efficiency.

Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotational shift basis to ensure continuous availability of critical systems.

Train end users on application functionalities and best practices.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience in supporting healthcare applications such as LIS, HIS, or other clinical information systems is preferred.

Strong knowledge of computer paradigms, software troubleshooting, and IT support methodologies.

Familiarity with databases (SQL, Oracle) and system integrations.

Ability to analyze log files, identify root causes, and provide effective solutions.

Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Willingness to work shift-based schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays as part of 24/7 support coverage.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with HL7, ASTM, or other healthcare integration standards.

Knowledge of cloud-based healthcare applications or virtualization technologies.

Understanding of ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.
