Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for achieving sales targets and business growth within the assigned area. The role involves developing and managing a network of distributors, dealers, and sales representatives, ensuring effective execution of sales strategies, and maintaining strong relationships with key customers to drive revenue and market share.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement area-specific sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Manage, train, and motivate the field sales team to deliver high performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities.
- Ensure proper execution of marketing and promotional activities in the assigned area.
- Conduct regular sales reviews, performance analysis, and territory mapping.
- Manage inventory, pricing, and credit control in coordination with distributors.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, processes, and brand standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 4–8 years of experience in sales and distribution, preferably in FMCG, consumer goods, or a similar sector.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing teams effectively.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned area.
