The Inventory Head oversees all aspects of inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize costs, and maintain high accuracy and efficiency across the supply chain. This position bridges operations, procurement, production, and sales to balance supply and demand effectively.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Leadership

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Set inventory policies (e.g., safety stock levels, reorder points, lead times).
  • Lead and mentor the inventory management team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with senior management to forecast demand and align inventory with business plans.

2. Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Ensure real-time accuracy of stock data across warehouses and systems.
  • Monitor stock movements, cycle counts, and audits to minimize discrepancies.
  • Oversee implementation of best practices in storage, labeling, and tracking.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances or shrinkage.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with procurement, logistics, production, and finance teams.
  • Communicate inventory status, issues, and recommendations to management.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between multiple warehouses or distribution centers.

4. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare periodic reports on inventory performance metrics and trends.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through inventory optimization.
  • Present insights to support data-driven decision-making.
