The Senior Database Administrator I supports KNA databases to maintain and improve their stability and reliability and responds to and resolves alerts, problems and incidents. The Senior Database Administrator

I must be able to execute periodical and on-demand maintenance tasks and deploy database changes within established standards, processes and policies. The position is expected to be able to work independently and provide guidance to more junior level members of the team, recognize larger problems proactively and work with other teams/team members to resolve them and mentor other database administrators and be cross trained in other technologies used at KNA.Primary/Key ResponsibilitiesManage databases by designing, installing, configuring and maintaining complex database systems. Monitor database systems for performance issues and implement corrective measures.

Optimize queries and database configurations to improve performance. Provide technical guidance and support on database-related developmental tasks. Provide operational support in the management of databases based on AWS (RDS).

Support the deployment of code and execution of complex tasks on KNA databases, including,but not limited to Application deployments, O/S and databases engines patches and upgrades, Data refreshes in non-production environments and security changesMaintain and upgrade DBA tools and settings (proactively or by request) of enterprise monitoring tools. User,Group and Roles Management. Use/Maintain documentation/runbooks related to periodical tasks, like upgrades, environment refresh tool, security changes.

Working knowledge on Minor/Major patching. Hands on Experience with Instance consolidation. Complete on-call rotations and work outside regular business hours and on weekends.

RDS Snapshot restoration. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.6+ years of experience in the field Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Preferred QualificationsExperience with PostgreSQL-Sql Databases on AWS (RDS).

Experience with monitoring tools like DPA,Dynatrace. PostgreSQL/AWS or Any other DB Architect certification is a plus.

Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) is a plus. Experience with MySql is a plus.
