Job Description :We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer with 6-9 years of experience to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and supporting Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, with additional knowledge of AWS Cloud platform and its features which includes EC2, RDS, CloudWatch, Cloud Trail, CloudFormation AWS Config, Autoscaling, CloudFront, IAM, S3, and R53 and knowledge on Azure services is a plus. Candidate must have good knowledge on Heterogeneous database migration such as Oracle to PostgreSQL, MSSQL Server.

Responsibilities :

  • Install PostgreSQL database software and configure database instances.
  • Set up client authentication and connection settings in ''.
  • Design database schemas, tables, and relationships.
  • Implement indexing strategies and normalization.
  • Develop and implement backup strategies using tools like 'pg_dump' and 'pg_basebackup'.
  • Test and verify recovery procedures.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance using tools like 'EXPLAIN' and 'pg_stat_statements'.
  • Tune PostgreSQL configurations for optimal performance.
  • Manage user roles and permissions.
  • Implement SSL for secure connections and monitor access logs.
  • Apply security patches and updates to the PostgreSQL environment.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, ensuring compatibility.
  • Use monitoring tools like 'pgAdmin', 'Nagios', or 'Prometheus' to oversee database performance.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks like vacuuming and analyzing tables.
  • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues and performance problems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize queries.
  • Set up streaming replication and failover solutions for high availability.
  • Configure logical replication for data distribution.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.
