We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of our PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their security, integrity and optimal performance.

Job Description

The Database Administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining database systems that meet business requirements, including:

  • Ensuring data security through access control, encryption and backups.
  • Maintaining database health by monitoring system resources, indexing, archiving and vacuuming.
  • Providing technical support for database-related issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, with experience in PostgreSQL and PostgreSQL architecture. They will also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and collaboration skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Linux administration.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and PostgreSQL architecture.
  • Experience in installing, monitoring, troubleshooting and configuring PostgreSQL servers.
  • Knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and high availability.
  • Ability to implement and maintain database security, create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash/Shell.
  • NoSQL/MongoDB knowledge is an added advantage.
