Job Description:

  • Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases to ensure high performance, integrity, and security.
  • Design and implement database systems that meet the organization's needs.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure data integrity and security by implementing backup and recovery processes.
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth operation.
  • Automate database tasks and processes to improve productivity.
  • Perform database tuning and optimization to resolve performance issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date database documentation.
  • Implement database upgrades and patches to ensure compatibility.
  • Monitor database health and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience as a PostgreSQL DBA with a strong understanding of database architecture and design.
  • Strong skills in SQL and database scripting, with experience in database tuning and optimization.
  • Familiarity with database tools and technologies, including backup and recovery processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in training and mentoring junior staff.
  • Ability to develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date database documentation.
