Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Database Engineer to join our global team of experts in database engineering.

This role involves architecting, implementing and supporting technological solutions within cloud environments like Oracle/PostgreSQL for revenue-generating applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, as well as time and project management expertise to lead the database teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Architecture: Design and implement scalable and high-performance database architectures on PostgreSQL and Oracle platforms.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction to the database teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business objectives.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, including EC2, Lambda, Systems Manager, Cloudwatch & SAM.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure cloud security IAM policies, secret management, and key management services are implemented and maintained.
  • Migration and Development: Lead migration efforts from Oracle to PostgreSQL using AWS SCT and DMS services, and develop automated migration patterns.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in database engineering, including providing support for mission-critical production databases and developing database engineering services for PostgreSQL databases on AWS.
  • Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle, and AWS Aurora/RDS PostgreSQL databases.
  • Strong understanding of database migration and re-platforming strategies, agile development frameworks, and best practices.
