Postgresql Database administration

Install, development ,configure, and upgrade PostgreSQL databases.

Ensure that the database environment is optimized for performance and scalability.

Set up and maintain replication and clustering for high availability (e.g., streaming replication, logical replication, Patroni).

Implement and maintain database backup strategies to ensure data integrity and recoverability.

Perform regular backups and recovery testing to ensure disaster recovery readiness.

Fine-tune PostgreSQL configuration settings for optimal performance.

Conduct routine database maintenance tasks (vacuuming, analyzing, reindexing) to ensure optimal performance.

Perform troubleshooting and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues related to PostgreSQL database instances.

Monitor database health and availability using monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, pg_stat_statements, etc.).

Analyze logs for performance issues, errors, and abnormal activities.

Create and manage custom alerts and notifications based on predefined thresholds.

Generate periodic reports on database performance, uptime, and key metrics.

Configure and maintain database replication strategies (synchronous, asynchronous, logical replication).

Ensure high availability through failover clustering (e.g., Patroni, repmgr, PgBouncer).

Troubleshoot replication lag, failover, and ensure continuous database availability.

Database Migration & Upgrades:

Maintain thorough documentation on database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Establish and enforce database best practices for coding, indexing, and query optimization.

Implement and manage security measures, including database encryption, access control, user permissions, and auditing. Set up and maintain database roles, privileges, and authentication mechanisms (e.g., LDAP, Kerberos). Regularly apply security patches and updates to PostgreSQL instances.Deve
