Overview
TM1 Planning and Analytics Tech lead to manage the TM1 development team and delivery of projects to meet the expectations as per business requirements.
This new role will:
- Lead the TM1 technical team.
- Handle end-to-end delivery of all technical projects.
- Coordinate with finance and finance systems team.
- Owns day-to-day TM1 user requirements and delivery.
Key Accountabilities and main responsibilities
Strategic Focus
- Oversee TM1and Data Warehouse operations and manage the project and development lifecycle, ensuring smooth operations and timely resolutions.
- Initiate and drive continuous improvement efforts for the TM1 team
Operational Management
- Oversee and manage the TM1 reporting system and data warehouse, ensuring smooth operations and timely resolutions.
- Architect and build data solutions on TM1 to enhance reporting, analytics, and data visualization.
- Oversee the integration of TM1 with ERPs, data warehouses, and reporting tools.
- Recommend, design, configure, and validate new and improved systems to enhance processes.
- Function as a bridge between business, finance teams, and technical teams.
- Present technical solutions in a way that non-technical stakeholders can understand.
- Define testing strategies (unit, integration, UAT). Validate the performance, scalability, and security of models.
- Ensure documentation and knowledge transfer are completed.
- Ensure effective system controls are in place and escalate any risks.
People Leadership
- Ability to lead the TM1 technical team and collaborate with broader finance teams and IT.
Governance & Risk
- Keep track of and report on TM1 governance and risk controls for access provisioning, change management, user access reviews, and audits.
- Help review business processes and controls across distinct functions to find and implement solutions for better efficiency.

Experience & Personal Attributes
- 10+ years in Business Intelligence / Financial Systems with at least 8 years of IBM TM1/ Planning Analytics development.
- At least 3 years in a lead / mentor role (Guiding developers, managing deliverables). Coordinated across onshore/offshore delivery teams.
- Expertise in designing cubes, dimensions, rules, feeders, and Turbo Integrator processes.
- Oversaw system upgrades and migrations.
- Advanced experience with SQL.
- Experience with reporting/visualization tools.
- Proficiency in Python programming for data processing, automation, TM1 REST API integration, automated testing, reconciliation, and exception handling for TM1 processes.
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial consolidation, and scenario modelling.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, with functional understanding of finance domain concepts (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow).
- Firsthand experience in data governance, security, and performance optimisation.
