Cutie Pie Cake Shop is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Store Manager/MIT to oversee daily operations, lead a small team, and ensure exceptional customer service and product quality. This role is ideal for someone passionate about desserts, retail management, and creating a delightful experience for every guest.

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Store Operations

  • Oversee daily operations including opening/closing procedures
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health & safety standards
  • Maintain all equipment and coordinate maintenance when needed

2. Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of bakery staff, decorators, and front-of-house
  • Create and manage work schedules
  • Provide performance feedback and support staff development

3. Customer Service

  • Ensure high-quality customer service and resolve complaints or issues professionally
  • Manage custom orders, special requests, and seasonal offerings
  • Maintain a friendly and inviting atmosphere in-store

4. Inventory & Supply Management

  • Monitor and manage stock of ingredients, packaging, and supplies
  • Coordinate with suppliers and place timely orders
  • Track usage and reduce waste

5. Sales & Marketing

  • Drive sales through upselling, promotions, and customer loyalty initiatives
  • Support social media promotions and local marketing events
  • Monitor sales trends and suggest new ideas to increase footfall

6. Financial Oversight

  • Handle cash register/POS and reconcile daily sales
  • Manage petty cash and basic expense tracking
  • Assist with budgeting and financial reporting

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in retail or food service management (bakery/caf experience is a plus)
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Basic financial and inventory management knowledge
  • Comfortable using POS systems, spreadsheets, and scheduling tools
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and peak hours
