Position : HR Payroll Specialist Experience : 4 years Type : Contract Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist capable of handling all aspects of the payroll function. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing multiple tasks throughout their day while maintaining a high level of accuracy in their work and production. The specialist may be required to estimate modifications to pay rates on the basis of overtime, time off etc. He/she will offer support to the payroll manager to guarantee veracity of data entry.This role ensures that all stakeholders are kept informed, that the various and different payroll and related processes are administered appropriately; that assigned projects are delivered within scope, schedule, budget and quality, and accuracy levels are consistent with expectations. Responsibilities Include:Perform tasks to establish and maintain employee payroll recordsInput, review, and audit timekeeping and other payroll -related recordsMaintain time and attendance recordsEnter new hires into the payroll systemPost changes in pay, tax status, and other miscellaneous categoriesEnsure compliance with labour laws and company policiesCompute wage, overtime, and other types of payCalculate and record payroll deductions (voluntary and involuntary)Process advance, termination and other out -of -cycle paymentsReconcile earnings and deduction totalsCalculate and prepare general journal entriesReview output registers and reports and correct out -of -balance conditionsPrepare and file tax reportsCompile payroll data for management, auditors, and othersServe as back -up to other payroll specialistDocument proceduresAssure that all employees receive timely responses to inquiries, questions, etc.Independently coordinate and communicate with all internal groups, hiring managers, and external parties (as required).Address and resolve problems in a timely mannerTake initiative; demonstrate strong decision -making and organizational skillsInitiate best practices; develop efficiency improvementsParticipate in special projects and other duties as assignedThe Leave & Time Management Team (LTM) creates, maintains and provides inputs to payroll relating to leave, time and attendance of all employeesAssist in preparing payroll budgets and forecasts.Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and best practices.Must have comprehensive HR and payroll knowledge of government policies, legislations and tax regulationsRespond to and resolve payroll -related inquiries from employees
