Job Description:

An Environmental Assistant Manager supports the implementation of environmental programs and ensures compliance with regulations. They help conduct risk assessments, update safety protocols, train staff, and investigate incidents. Their role also includes managing environmental documentation and coordinating with various teams. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and Implementing EHS Policies:
    Creating and enforcing environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements and promote a safe working environment. 


  • Conducting Audits and Inspections:
    Regularly inspecting workplaces to identify potential hazards and recommending corrective actions to improve safety standards. 


  • Training and Education:
    Educating employees on EHS practices, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 


  • Incident Investigation and Prevention:
    Investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes, implement preventative measures, and minimize the risk of future occurrences. 


  • Risk Assessment:
    Evaluating potential hazards and assessing the risks associated with various activities and operations. 


  • Documentation and Record Keeping:
    Maintaining accurate records of EHS activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety permits. 


  • Compliance Monitoring:
    Ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant environmental regulations and guidelines. 


  • Collaboration and Communication:
    Working with various departments and teams to implement EHS initiatives, review programs, and ensure consistent application of policies. 


  • Hazardous Waste Management:
    Overseeing the proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste materials. 


  • Environmental Monitoring:
    Conducting environmental monitoring and audits to assess the impact of operations on the environment. 



Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, HAZWOPER) may be required.
