Job Description:

An Electrical Foreman in a coal mine is responsible for supervising and coordinating electrical work, ensuring safety, and maintaining electrical systems within the mine's infrastructure. They oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, as well as manage and train electrical crews. 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervision and Coordination:
    Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical equipment and systems in the mine. 


  • Safety:
    Implement and enforce safety regulations and procedures for all electrical work. 


  • Team Management:
    Lead and supervise electrical crews, including electricians and apprentices. 


  • Problem Solving:
    Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, and troubleshoot problems with electrical equipment. 


  • Documentation:
    Maintain records of electrical work, maintenance logs, and inventory of electrical supplies. 


  • Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and mining regulations. 


  • Budget Management:
    Assist with the planning and execution of electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. 


  • Training:
    Train and mentor electrical crew members on safety procedures, electrical systems, and equipment. 


  • Equipment Management:
    Manage and maintain electrical equipment, including scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs.
