Role & responsibilities

Daily Reconciliation:

Perform daily reconciliation of bank statements with internal accounting records, identifying and investigating discrepancies.

Discrepancy Resolution: Investigate, resolve, and monitor the progress of reconciling items, escalating unresolved issues to senior finance or risk teams.

Reporting: Prepare monthly variance reports detailing bank positions versus ledger balances, highlighting fluctuations and potential operational risks.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (finance, operations, trading) and external banking partners to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing.

Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of all reconciliation activities and communications for compliance and audit purposes.

Audit Support: Assist internal and external auditors by providing detailed documentation, transaction evidence, and explanations.

Process Improvement: Collaborate with teams to optimize reconciliation processes and implement best practices for efficiency and accuracy.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience: Several years of experience in bank reconciliation or financial analysis.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting and reconciliation software.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous and detail-oriented approach to handling financial data.
  • Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and implement solutions to prevent financial challenges.
