Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Operations Manager with over 16 years of proven experience in the manufacturing sector, preferably in FMCG. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant operations, production planning, process optimization, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations, including production, maintenance, quality, safety, and logistics.
  • Ensure achievement of production targets, adherence to quality standards, and on-time delivery.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, TPM, and other continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and streamline operational processes.
  • Monitor and control budget, inventory, material flow, and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, QA, and R&D teams for smooth coordination and effective production planning.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (HSE).
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and present operational reports to senior management.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous learning among team members.
  • Handle escalations, audits, and inspections effectively and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related). MBA/PGDM is a plus.
  • Minimum 16 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in FMCG manufacturing (e.g., food, beverages, personal care, household goods).
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, quality control systems, and industry regulations.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP etc.) and operational reporting tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and team management skills.
  • Strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Exposure to high-speed production lines, packaging operations, and warehouse integration in FMCG setups.
  • Demonstrated success in driving cost-saving initiatives, plant turnaround, or capacity expansion projects.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, volume-driven, and quality-sensitive environment.
