Payroll Officer (part-time)

We are seeking an experienced part-time (24 hours per week) Payroll Officer to join our Finance team based at head office in Morningside, reporting to the Finance Controller (NZ). You will be working alongside a Senior Payroll Officer to process payroll for approximately 300 employees, ensuring accurate, timely payment and maintaining payroll-related records.

• 24 hours per week – working days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Responsibilities include:

• Establish and maintain accurate weekly payroll processing using Pay Global (end-to-end payroll)

• Ensure accuracy of payroll records by maintaining database with updates/changes.

• Maintain employee records for new hires, pay changes, and terminations.

• Review timesheets and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

• Prepare end-of-month reporting.

• Assist in managing and processing kiwisaver contributions and IRD requirements

• Communicate with stakeholders to ensure smooth payroll process and operations.

• Liaise with and support the HR and Finance team.

• Back up support for Senior Payroll Officer while on leave.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Experience with Pay Global software (advantageous)

• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritise a diverse range of tasks.

• Understanding of NZ Employment/Legislative requirements (holiday's act)
