Role Overview

As a Data Center Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of data center infrastructure. You will work with a team of network and security professionals to support mission-critical systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices for stability and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor routing and switching infrastructure.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewalls and proxy solutions.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of data center operations with high availability and minimal downtime.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
  • Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of network and security devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for incident resolution and change management.
  • Document processes, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company security standards and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of hands-on experience in data center operations or network/security engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of routing & switching (Cisco/Juniper/Arista preferred).
  • Experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, or similar).
  • Familiarity with proxy solutions (Blue Coat, Squid, or equivalent).
  • Good understanding of network security, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Ability to work in 24x7 operational environments (shift-based, if required).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Good to Have (Preferred Skills)

  • CCNA / CCNP / NSE / PCNSE or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with load balancers, VPNs, or cloud networking.
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Python scripting) for network operations.
