We are a 63 year old healthcare company recognized for our leadership in the oral antidiabetic & cardiovascular disease therapeutic segments in India. Our Biologics Program comprises molecular biology, upstream and downstream, analytical and bioanalytical teams and biologics regulatory affairs operating out of Govandi, Mumbai. USV's first commercialized biosimilar, Pegfilgrastim (GRASUSTEK) has received marketing authorization in the EU and some other countries and has been marketed for the past 5 years. USV Biologics is expanding into mammalian biosimilars and is building a team for the Mammalian program in R&D.

About the Role

We are hiring AGM - Mammalian Upstream Lab (BRL), who will play a pivotal role in setting up the lab, and further work on target molecules to advance them to the next stage. This position will be based at our Corporate Office and R&D Center at Govandi (East), Mumbai.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of biosimilar upstream process development in mammalian (CHO expression system)
  • Experience in process development including media feed screening and physical parameters optimization
  • Handling of CHO based cultures at shake flask level, ambr15 and ambr250 scales
  • Handling in 5L and 50L with Multiple and Single use disposable upstream equipment
  • Scale up process, technology transfer (2-4 projects) & troubleshooting of scaleup related activities
  • Process characterization
  • Working under quality management systems
  • Setting up a mammalian upstream lab
  • Preparation of different reports related to upstream process development
  • Plan and coordinate activities with cross functional teams (CFTs) such as clone development, downstream, analytical and manufacturing teams
  • Lead a team of scientists in upstream team & able to mentor team to solve challenging problems
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

Qualifications

  • Msc with 13-16 years of experience or PhD with 8-12 years of experience in upstream lab (Mandatory experience in Mabs project: project development and scale up)

Required Skills

  • Experience in leading mammalian projects
