Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic SEO Manager to lead the search engine optimization and Social Media platform growth efforts for three interconnected digital platforms. This role is critical to the successful launch and long-term growth of our new, unified web and social media presence including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex website migrations, developing and executing multilingual SEO strategies, and driving organic traffic through a diverse range of content formats and Social Media Growth Initiatives. He will be responsible for WhatsApp growth initiatives. This is a hands-on role that requires a blend of technical expertise, content strategy, and a deep understanding of audience behaviour in both urban and rural contexts. This SEO optimization is not limited to website only but includes the strategy for YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. The Social Media Strategy should also boost the growth of Core Website including WhatsApp strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Website Migration SEO:
o Lead the end-to-end SEO strategy for the migration of three websites from a WordPress CMS to a new Publish Story platform, ensuring a seamless transition and zero loss of organic traffic.
o Conduct a comprehensive pre-migration SEO audit, including backlink analysis, keyword ranking baselines, and a full content inventory.
o Develop and implement a meticulous 301 redirect mapping plan for all URLs.
o Collaborate with the development team to ensure all technical SEO best practices are integrated into the new site architecture from day one (e.g., fast page speed, mobile-friendliness, proper use of canonical tags, and structured data/schema mark-up for articles, videos, and audio).
o Post-launch, monitor performance closely using tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and SEMrush to identify and quickly resolve any crawl errors or ranking fluctuations.
• Multilingual & Content SEO:
o Develop and execute the SEO strategy for the multilingual rollout, starting with Hindi and English, and adding a new language every two months. This includes managing hreflang tags, conducting keyword research in multiple languages, and localizing content for different regional audiences.
o Work with content creators to optimize various content formats, including videos, audio, articles, slides, and web stories, for maximum search engine visibility.
o Ensure all new content, including the UGC (User-Generated Content) section, is created with SEO best practices in mind, targeting both Tier-1 and Tier-2 audiences.
o Categorize content and stories in a search-friendly manner, leveraging long-tail keywords and content clusters.
o SEO and GEO tools like Geoptie for better discovery
o Run the Audit tool time to time
• Technical SEO & Analytics:
o Continuously monitor the technical health of all three websites, identifying and resolving issues related to crawlability, indexation, site speed, and mobile usability.
o Manage and optimize Google My Business profiles for any physical locations or brand entities.
o Utilize web analytics tools to track, analyse, and report on key SEO/GEO metrics such as organic traffic, keyword rankings, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
o Provide regular reports and insights to the management team, highlighting SEO/GEO performance and recommending strategic adjustments.
• Strategic Growth & Collaboration:
o Plan and prepare for the SEO launch of new sections and features
o Stay up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices, proactively adapting strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
o Collaborate with other teams, including content creation, development, and marketing, to ensure SEO is integrated into every stage of the project lifecycle.
o Work with the product team to plan for SEO considerations related to the SSO login, user dashboard, and future Wellness App.
KRA of SEO manager:
• Month on Month growth in Page view and Engagement to be measured from the current stats
• Plan the content publishing and suggest Keywords and best practices for the editorial team
• Google Bot crawl report and Growth on Website, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram in terms of Page view, Engagement Time, Followers, and Subscription when launched
• Run the SEO campaign and publish the growth campaign target vs Achieved on Monthly Basis
Qualifications:
• Proven experience (4-5+ years) in a senior SEO role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful SEO campaigns and website migrations.
• Expertise in technical SEO, including site audits, crawl optimization, and structured data implementation.
• Demonstrable experience with multilingual SEO strategy and execution.
• In-depth knowledge of SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog) and analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Google Search Console).
• Strong understanding of content marketing and its intersection with SEO.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with WordPress is highly desirable.
