Roles & Responsibilities: As a Proposal Engineer specializing in Internet of Things (IoT), you will play a crucial role in the sales and business development process. You will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, developing innovative IoT solutions, and creating compelling proposals to win new business. This role requires a deep understanding of IoT technologies, strong technical acumen, and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present solutions to clients.
Customer Engagement:
  • Engage with customers to understand their business objectives, challenges, and requirements related to IoT solutions.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify opportunities where IoT can add value and solve customer pain points.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor throughout the proposal process.

Solution Design:
  • Design and architect IoT solutions that align with customer requirements and objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including product management, engineering, and technical experts, to develop innovative and feasible solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and risk analyses to evaluate the viability and scalability of proposed solutions.

Proposal Development:
  • Develop comprehensive proposals, including technical specifications, project timelines, cost estimations, and implementation plans.
  • Customize proposals to address specific customer needs and showcase the unique value of the proposed IoT solution.
  • Craft compelling narratives and use cases to illustrate how the proposed solution will address customer challenges and deliver business benefits.

Presentation and Demonstration:
  • Deliver persuasive presentations and demonstrations to potential customers, showcasing the proposed IoT solution's capabilities and benefits.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Address customer questions, concerns, and objections, and provide expert guidance to facilitate decision-making.

Industry and Market Awareness:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, developments, and innovations in the IoT industry.
  • Continuously monitor the market landscape, competitor activities, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for differentiation and improvement.
  • Share insights and recommendations with internal teams to drive product enhancements and strategic initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Proposal Engineer or similar role, specifically in IoT-related projects.
  • Strong understanding of IoT technologies, platforms, protocols, and architectures.
  • Proficiency in solution design, including hardware, software, connectivity, and data management aspects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Experience in customer engagement and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with sales and business development processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and regulations related to IoT.
