Experience: 3-15 years of experience for Network Cabling Solutions for Data Centres & Large Office/Campuses in India
Ideally for Hyperscale Data center customers like Microsoft, Google, Meta, Amazon or Fortune 500 companies/Enterprise customers like Adobe, Amex, Morgan Stanley
Education: BE/Diploma Elect/Elect/Mech
Software: MS Excel (Advanced - Pivot tables, Vlookup), CRM Tools, PPT, Word, Outlook
AutoCAD/MS Visio/BlueBeam (preferred)
Certifications (preferred but not mandatory): certifications from cable OEMs like Commscope, Panduit, Corning, Siemon etc
- Job Type: Full-time, Work from office/customer site
- Work Week: 6 days (Mon-Sat)
- Timings: India shift (9.30AM-6.30PM)
Job Description
We seek dynamic and results-oriented Pre-Sales Consultant to join our growing team of 250+ professionals to do world-class solutions for network cabling for Fortune 500 companies and Hyperscale Data centre clients.
The Pre-sales Consultant/Engineer is a key technical resource responsible for driving the sales process by providing technical expertise and guidance to customers and the sales team. This role involves understanding customer needs, designing IT infrastructure solutions, and ensuring the successful positioning of our company's products and services. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in a pre-sales environment within the IT infrastructure domain.
Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement and Solution Design:
Act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their business challenges and technical requirements related to IT infrastructure.
- Develop and present compelling IT infrastructure solutions, including hardware, software, and services, that address customer needs and align with their business objectives.
- Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the value and capabilities of our solutions.
Must be able to attend international customer in-person and web meetings confidently.
Requirements Gathering and BOQ Preparation:
Should have been involved in capturing customer requirements for large offices/ITES/Campuses for SCS/DCs/Server Rooms and assist in freezing final BOQs with the help of draftsmen if needed.
- Analyze customer needs and technical specifications to design detailed IT infrastructure solutions.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive Bills of Quantities (BOQs) based on project requirements.
Should be able to make BOQs from PDF drawings/Scope/Design briefs.
Technical Expertise and Product Knowledge:
Maintain a deep understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, including structured cabling systems (SCS), data centers (DCs), server rooms, racks, PDUs, and WIFI solutions.
- Should be familiar with CommScope products / Panduit / Legrand / Racks / PDUs / WIFI solutions.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings.
- Must be technically very sound and know industry best practices and standards.
Provide technical support and guidance to the sales team throughout sales cycle.
Sales Support and Collaboration:
Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales strategies and tactics.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, RFPs, and other sales documentation.
- Provide technical input and support for sales presentations and demonstrations.
Work with partners and vendors to identify and recommend appropriate solutions.
Certifications and Training:
Maintain and acquire relevant technical certifications.
- Should have valid OEM certifications.
Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance technical skills and product knowledge.
Documentation and Design:
Create detailed technical documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and design documents.
ACAD/Visio knowledge preferred but not a must.
Travel and Customer Interaction:
Should be willing to travel at short notice (7 days+) to visit customers/sites/attend workshops/interface with PMCs/Architects/Consultants.
- Conduct site visits and customer meetings to gather requirements and present solutions.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and workshops.
