Role Overview

We are hiring a Procurement Manager who will take charge of end-to-end goat procurement operations. This role involves identifying and managing rural vendors, selecting high-quality livestock based on set criteria, and traveling extensively to procurement locations, often in remote or rural areas.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Vendor Management (Goat Procurement)

Identify, onboard, and maintain relationships with local goat sellers, farmers, and aggregators

Negotiate procurement terms, pricing, and delivery timelines

Ensure ethical sourcing practices and vendor compliance with company standards

Maintain a vendor database with performance and procurement records

  1. Quality Check and Animal Selection

Physically assess goats for breed quality, health, weight, and market suitability

Implement and refine livestock quality standards in consultation with the veterinary/technical team

Reject substandard livestock and provide feedback to vendors

Maintain quality inspection records and coordinate with inventory teams

  1. Field Travel & Rural Sourcing

Travel regularly to villages, rural procurement points

Build long-term sourcing networks across regions

Coordinate logistics for goat transportation and documentation

Provide weekly field reports and sourcing insights to the leadership team


Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Rural Management, or related field (preferred but not mandatory)

2–5 years of experience in livestock procurement, rural sourcing, or agribusiness

Strong understanding of goat breeds, animal health, and quality standards

Willingness to travel frequently to rural and remote areas

Excellent negotiation, people, and documentation skills

Comfortable using smartphones and digital tools for field data collection
