Autism Center of Excellence is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Specialist who has hands-on experience managing US payroll, HR compliance, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have previously worked with a US company and is comfortable handling multi-state payroll, onboarding, and HR documentation independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process US bi-weekly payroll for W2 employees and 1099 contractors.
  • Manage new hire documentation (W-4, I-9, direct deposit forms, etc.).
  • Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding for US staff.
  • Maintain accurate HR and payroll records and ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Administer employee benefits (health, dental, vision, PTO, 401k, etc.).
  • Prepare and review payroll reports, tax filings, and summaries.
  • Assist with performance reviews, policy updates, and HR communication.
  • Support management with HR reports and compliance audits.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HR and payroll for US-based companies (mandatory).
  • Knowledge of US payroll laws, taxes, and compliance across multiple states.
  • Experience using Gusto Payroll, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of W-2 and 1099 classifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working US business hours (EST).
  • Proficient in Google Workspace / Excel / HRIS tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, billing, or technology sectors.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration and employee compliance.
