About the job

We're looking for a fearless On-Ground Reporter who can chase stories where they're happening, not from behind a desk. Someone who can dig, listen, observe and tell it like it is.

Based in Mumbai | Full-time | 100% video | 100% social


What you'll do

  • Shoe leather reporting wherever the story takes you
  • Film using your phone to capture what's happening around you
  • Find and cover underreported stories that deserve national attention
  • Capture real voices, context and emotion
  • Collaborate with editors and producers to sharpen stories for impact and clarity
  • Turn around social-first news videos quickly without compromising accuracy

Who you are

  • A natural storyteller with sharp instincts for news and people
  • Comfortable being on camera and connecting with viewers in your own voice
  • Quick thinking on your feet
  • Curious, courageous and compassionate
  • Good grasp of social media (you know how to hold a viewer's attention)
  • Thrive in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment

What you bring

  • 2 - 3 years of reporting experience
  • Strong on-ground news gathering and interview skills
  • Demonstrated experience at shooting on phone (bonus if you edit too)
  • Journalistic rigour for getting the story right
  • Energy, hustle and passion to hit the ground running
