The organization's Mental Health vertical has led innovative, community-based psychosocial support models for populations ranging from school students to police personnel and prison inmates. Our goal is to integrate accessible mental health care into everyday spaces, using a systemic and empathetic approach.

About our Environment Initiatives:
As a part of our team, you will get to work on

several pathbreaking and important projects such as:

● The Project Mumbai Plastic and E-waste Recyclothon: One of world's largest citizen-led

plastic collection and recycling initiatives, that has engaged lakhs of citizens and prevented

thousands of plastic and e-waste from going into landfills.

● Zero Waste Schools: A unique initiative where school students from around the city learn and

inculcate a zero waste and sustainable lifestyle at the individual, family, and community levels.

● Zero Waste Gardens: We build various amenities - walking blocks, benches, fences, bollards,

bins, signages, and others - made from recycled plastic to promote a healthier, zero waste, and

sustainable lifestyle among citizens.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Project Officer to drive the on-ground implementation of our projects, to

lead community engagement, and to support documentation for our environment and sustainability

initiatives. The role is ideal for an early-career professional passionate about community-led environmental

action, with strong operational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Implementation:

● Coordinate planning and execution of on-ground activities in collaboration with local

partners and citizen volunteers.

● Maintain project schedules and monitor progress of activities as per timelines.

● Assist in event and logistics planning for campaigns, clean-up drives, workshops, and

installations.

● Maintain activity logs, documentation, and field-level data collection.

● Prepare presentations and visual documentation for internal and external audiences.

  1. Volunteer and Community Engagement:

● Mobilize, onboard, and coordinate citizen volunteers for various projects.

● Conduct awareness sessions in schools, community spaces, institutions, and public

forums.

● Serve as a point of contact for citizens, addressing queries and encouraging sustained

participation.

  1. Documentation & Communication:

● Maintain project databases, photos, reports, and field updates.

● Create outreach materials including posters, brochures, and basic social media content.

● Support the Communication Team with stories and updates for newsletters, campaigns,

and social media platforms.

  1. Administrative and Coordination Support:

● Track project expenses and ensure alignment with project budgets.

● Liaise with vendors for materials, logistics, and operational support.

● Provide back-end support to the Project Manager and other senior staff in reporting and

coordination with Government and philanthropic/funder stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

● Graduate in any field of study; Background in environmental studies, social sciences,

business or media studies, or a related field is a plus.

● 1-2 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year in the environment or civic

engagement sector is preferred.

● Volunteering and/or internship experience in nonprofits, community organizations, etc.

● Experience in mobilizing and coordinating volunteers is desired.

● Proficiency in spoken and written English, Hindi, and Marathi.

● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in community settings.

● Comfort with public speaking, community sessions, and awareness drives.

● Basic design or documentation skills (e.g., Canva, PowerPoint, Excel).

● Residence in the western suburbs will be considered an added advantage.

● Candidates must be open to extensive travel; those comfortable with this requirement

will be preferred.

Remuneration:
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and nonprofit sector standards.
