Department: Production / ManufacturingReports To: Production Manager / Plant ManagerJob Summary:

The Assistant Manager – Production is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations related to both wood and metal product lines. The role includes managing production teams, ensuring efficiency and quality, optimizing workflow, and maintaining safety and compliance standards. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of wood and metal fabrication processes, production planning, and team supervision.

Key Responsibilities:Production Planning & Coordination

  • Assist in developing and implementing production schedules to meet output targets.
  • Coordinate between wood and metal departments to optimize resources and avoid downtime.
  • Monitor progress and adjust schedules as needed to ensure timely delivery.

Team Supervision

  • Supervise production staff including operators, technicians, and line supervisors.
  • Assign tasks and ensure adherence to daily goals and safety procedures.
  • Support training and development of team members for improved performance.

Quality Control

  • Ensure production output meets company and client quality standards.
  • Identify root causes of quality issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Work with the QC team to implement preventive measures.

Process Improvement

  • Analyze production processes for efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements or equipment upgrades.
  • Promote lean manufacturing and 5S principles.

Maintenance & Safety

  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for machine servicing and repairs.
  • Enforce workplace safety rules and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Inventory & Materials Management

  • Monitor raw material availability for both wood and metal production lines.
  • Work with the procurement team to avoid material shortages or overstock.
  • Track and report on material usage and wastage.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in production or manufacturing, preferably in wood and metal fabrication.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Woodworking machinery and techniques (cutting, sanding, laminating, etc.)
  • Metalworking processes (welding, cutting, bending, CNC machines)
  • Skills:
  • Leadership and team management
  • Problem-solving and decision-making
  • Production planning and scheduling

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹40, ₹50,000.00 per month
