Job Title: Assistant Manager – Production (Wood Industry)

Department: Production

Reports to: Production Manager / Plant Head

Job Purpose:

To assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising production activities in the wood manufacturing unit, ensuring efficient operations, quality standards, timely delivery, and optimal resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Control

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
  • Monitor production workflow and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Ensure availability of raw materials, tools, and manpower.

2. Operations Management

  • Supervise production processes such as cutting, machining, assembling, polishing, and finishing.
  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams for new product development.
  • Ensure adherence to production targets, quality standards, and timelines.

3. Quality Assurance

  • Implement quality checks at every stage of production.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Work with the QA team to reduce rework and wastage.

4. People Management

  • Supervise and guide supervisors, operators, and shop floor staff.
  • Conduct training on production techniques, safety, and equipment handling.
  • Motivate team members to achieve productivity and quality goals.

5. Process Improvement

  • Identify areas for efficiency improvement and cost reduction.
  • Suggest automation or process upgrades in woodworking machinery.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and 5S practices on the shop floor.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Monitor safe use of machinery like CNC routers, panel saws, edge banding machines, etc.
  • Maintain records of safety audits and incident reports.

7. Coordination & Reporting

  • Liaise with procurement, design, maintenance, and logistics teams.
  • Maintain production records, downtime analysis, and daily MIS reports.
  • Report key issues and progress to the Production Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹45, ₹55,000.00 per month
