Role & responsibilities

  1. Procurement & Sourcing
  2. Identify, source, and procure required spares and bought-out parts from approved vendors.
  3. Float inquiries, obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements

  4. Negotiate with vendors for cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

  5. Inventory Management (Min-Max Control)

  6. Monitor and maintain stock levels of spares as per defined minimum and maximum levels.
  7. Raise purchase requisitions for replenishment in advance to avoid stock-out situations.

  8. Coordinate with the stores team to ensure accuracy of stock records.

  9. Vendor Management

  10. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term business continuity.
  11. Evaluate vendors based on quality, price, delivery, and service.

  12. Track supplier performance and share feedback for improvement.

  13. Documentation & Compliance

  14. Prepare and maintain purchase orders, contracts, and related records.
  15. Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.

  16. Support cost-saving initiatives through alternate sourcing and vendor development.

  17. Coordination & Support

  18. Work closely with Stores, Production, and Maintenance teams to understand requirements.
  19. Coordinate with accounts for vendor payment follow-up and invoice clarifications.

  20. Support Production Planning & Control (PPC) team for bought

  21. Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  22. Knowledge of purchase processes and inventory control.
  23. Analytical ability to track consumption trends and forecast requirements.
  24. Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/SAP (if applicable).
  25. Vendor evaluation and development skills.

Preferred candidate profile

Education - Graduates in Mechanical/ Electrical or Supply chain Management

Relevant Experience in purchase, specifically SCM

Have strong Verbal skill, negotiation skills

Vendor evaluation and development skills.

Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/SAP
