Job Description:
A labor contractor's job description involves managing and supplying workers for various projects, which includes recruiting, hiring, and training staff, as well as overseeing their schedules, payroll, and performance. They act as a liaison between clients and workers, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This can also involve administrative tasks like record-keeping and ensuring safety and compliance on job sites. 
 
Core responsibilities
  • Worker management: Recruit, hire, and train workers for different projects, manage their schedules and payroll, and ensure they have the necessary tools and equipment.
  • Client liaison: Act as the main point of contact between the client and the workers, ensuring all labor needs are met and that the project progresses as planned.
  • Project oversight: Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget by effectively managing the workforce.
  • Safety and compliance: Uphold all safety standards, enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure the work site adheres to all regulations.
  • Administrative duties: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any incidents or issues that occur. 
 
Key duties
  • Site preparation: Clean and prepare job sites by removing debris, digging trenches, and ensuring the area is safe and organized.
  • Material handling: Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
  • Assisting skilled workers: Support skilled tradespeople like carpenters, electricians, and masons by providing tools and performing preparatory tasks.
  • Equipment operation: Operate light and heavy machinery and equipment as directed.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
