Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchase Assistant to support our procurement operations. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates with up to one year of experience who are eager to build a career in purchasing and supply chain management. The role involves sourcing, negotiating, and managing purchases across various categories, including electrical goods and general company requirements.

  • Core Responsibilities Buying and Sourcing Assist in purchasing a wide range of goods including electrical items such as wires, cables, lighting, switches, and other industrial and consumer products
  • Support the search for new suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors
  • Accurately create and process Purchase Orders (POs) using the company's procurement system
  • Negotiation and Cost Optimization Support negotiations on pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules under supervision
  • Help identify opportunities for cost savings, discounts, and favorable commercial terms
  • Track market prices and supplier costs to support informed purchasing decisions
  • Vendor Coordination Maintain communication with suppliers to ensure timely and complete deliveries
  • Collect and organize supplier documentation including price lists and product information
  • Assist in resolving basic supplier issues related to delivery or product quality
  • Inventory and Documentation Monitor stock levels and assist in determining reorder needs
  • Follow up on deliveries to ensure goods arrive on time and in full
  • Ensure purchase documentation is complete and accurate for finance processing

Requirements

  • Experience: 0 to 1 year in purchasing, procurement, or a related administrative role
  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred (any discipline)
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of electrical goods and general purchasing practices is an advantage
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP or purchasing software is a plus
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
