Job Title: Production Planning Manager – Jewellery Industry

Location: Mumbai(Vile Parle)

Department: Production / Manufacturing

Job Purpose:

The Production Planning Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the entire production planning process for jewellery manufacturing. The role ensures efficient utilization of resources, timely delivery of orders, and alignment of production schedules with customer requirements, quality standards, and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop and implement effective production plans and daily/weekly/monthly schedules.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of orders as per client and market requirements.
  • Balance workload across departments (casting, setting, polishing, finishing, QC, etc.).
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and sales teams to align production priorities.
  • Resource Management
  • Monitor manpower allocation across production units.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of machinery, raw materials, and tools.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the production process and implement solutions.
  • Order Management
  • Translate customer orders into production plans.
  • Track work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
  • Maintain strong coordination with dispatch and CRM teams.
  • Inventory & Materials Control
  • Ensure availability of raw materials (gold, diamonds, gemstones, alloys, consumables).
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
  • Monitor stock levels to avoid over/under-stocking.
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Work closely with Quality Control teams to maintain high jewellery standards.
  • Ensure adherence to company SOPs and industry regulations.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Track daily/weekly/monthly production output against targets.
  • Prepare MIS reports on productivity, efficiency, wastage, and delivery timelines.
  • Provide insights to management for process improvements.
  • Team Leadership
  • Supervise production coordinators, planners, and shop floor team leaders.
  • Train and mentor team members for skill enhancement.
  • Foster discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement culture.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes (casting, setting, polishing, finishing).
  • Proficiency in production planning tools/software (ERP, MIS, MS Excel, Gati/Ornate/Custom ERP systems).
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25, ₹30,000.00 per month
