Job Description

Title: Assistant Manager, Credit Research (Individual contributor for 6 months after that 2 repotees will be assigned)

This is a contractual role of 1 year on third party payroll of Randstad

• Experience yrs
• Shift PM, 2 hrs overlap to be given with US partners
• Mode - Hybrid
• Qualification- MBA or engineers/ No graduates
• Must experience- Preparing detailed credit research reports, credit analysis

Report writing- 90%

Financial modelling- basic - 10%

Role summary

The organization is a global in-house center supporting a major international financial services company and one of the largest life insurance organizations worldwide. It provides Business Operations, Technology, and Knowledge Services to global business units. The Investment Operations team, part of the Knowledge Services division, focuses on Credit Research, including areas such as Public Fixed Income, Real Estate & Mortgages, Equity Research, and Financial Modelling.

Accountabilities

• Prepare detailed credit research reports on companies, covering business models, strategic direction, major events, industry landscape, financial performance, capital structure, covenants, peer comparison, and key investment risks.
• Conduct credit analysis using credit rating agency reports, company earnings releases, and related commentary.
• Track and analyze major news, macroeconomic developments, and market data relevant to portfolio companies.
• Build and update credit models incorporating key financial ratios and credit metrics; support ongoing monitoring of portfolio entities.
• Develop thematic presentations and industry reports that highlight sector trends, outlooks, and emerging risks.
• Perform ESG research on portfolio companies across various sectors, including peer benchmarking on ESG parameters.
• Monitor sustainability-related developments, regulatory changes, and sector-specific ESG challenges.
• Contribute to the creation of investment presentations and materials for senior leadership and investment committees.

Skills and Knowledge

• Ability to perform credit analysis across various sectors including Banks, NBFCs, Retail, Consumer Products, and more.
• Capable of independently preparing credit research reports with detailed analysis and commentary on both business risk and financial risk.
• Strong understanding of fundamental credit analysis, with the ability to assess bonds and provide investment recommendations.
• Sound knowledge of global financial markets and macroeconomic trends.
• Proficient in conducting detailed industry research and preparing comprehensive sector presentations.
• Ability to independently build and update financial models and create industry comparable analysis.
• Good understanding of ESG policies and how companies implement them through Annual Reports, CSR/Sustainability Reports, and regulatory filings.
• Familiar with key sustainability frameworks, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and ESG benchmarking practices.
• Independent thinker with a decisive mindset and strong critical thinking skills.
• Excellent report writing and communication abilities, including the ability to create persuasive, data-driven presentations.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative team-oriented approach.
• Working knowledge of client and stakeholder management practices.

Education and Experience

• Full time MBA (Finance), CFA certification will be an advantage
• Around 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in credit analysis and ratings, credit research and report writing, across sectors covering global markets
• Good knowledge and experience in ESG domain
• Sound knowledge of databases Bloomberg, Moodys, S&P, Fitch etc.
