Digital workplace leader is responsible for establishing and maintaining a digital workplace strategy and architecture for Garrett Motion that meets the company's current and anticipated future needs.

This position owns implementation of Digital workplace transformation projects as well as orchestrate delivery of all digital workplace operational IT and services to Garrett operations / offices around the globe.

Scope includes all components of Digital workplace (e.g. End Point Management (Computers, Mobile devices), Patching, SW distribution, Collaboration, Voice over IP, Office365, monitoring …) and related operations, user support and vendor management. The person leads all Digital workplace operations related teams across Garretts locations, enabling, structuring and developing the colleagues for best possible performance including development of the organisational capability (people / capacity / skill / sourcing level / culture / digital mindset).

The position is part of Garretts IT infrastructure leadership management team, and part of IT extended leadership with responsibility to drive some of IT strategic initiatives across the functions.

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Strategy and Roadmap

  2. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Garretts overall future needs for technology and services in close alignment with business, legal, HR, facility management and other IT domains area covering digital workplace technology and services.

  3. Establish and maintain digital workplace architecture and strategy
  4. Establish a vision of the future digital workplace within Garrett
  5. Develop and maintain a strong understanding of digital workplace technologies and services that would enable Garrets future needs
  6. Beyond future needs, proactively identify future step changes in cost / efficiency optimisations / user experiance and satisfaction within digital workplace of Garrett
  7. Structure a roadmap of programs / projects to achieve this vision
  8. Identify the capabilities required inhouse and outsourced to implement and maintain these and establish a roadmap for these

  9. People leadership & Organizational / Capability Development

  10. identification of strategic vs commodity skills within digital workplace and definition of sourcing depth of digital workplace services

  11. implement sourcing measures including right sourcing to build up such capabilities
  12. establish a culture of passion for change, digital technologies, adopting agile practices both internally as well as with other IT teams and vendors
  13. drive talent development within the distributed digital workplace team
  14. develop and coach next level management team
  15. manage performance of direct reports and teams on continuous basis
  16. responsibility to drive some of IT strategic initiatives across the functions.

  17. Stakeholder Management

  18. regular gauging of stakeholder needs and identification of opportunities & pain points

  19. alignment of strategy and roadmap with need of stakeholders as well as gaining their buy in / required support
  20. periodic updates to stakeholders on overall service status as well as project delivery
  21. frequent business impact related communication in case of service disruptions
  22. Proactively manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress, decision-making and prioritization
  23. Create business communications, share IT brisk and contingency plans with business stakeholders
  24. Share lessons learned and best practices across programs, building relationships with stakeholders and brokering relationships at all levels

  25. Transformation projects delivery

  26. structure projects deducted from strategic programs to achieve regular transformation of Garretts infrastructure (current projects as examples "standardization of end point management", "Update of Mobily policy", "Software distribution platform", etc)

  27. own and enable implementation thereof meeting outlined business case benefits and delivery withing scope / time / budget

  28. Service Operations & Efficiency

  29. ensure solid delivery of all digital workplace services to Garrett, maximising stability for our business areas and minimizing risk of CyberSecurity exposure

  30. drive a mindset of service KPIs, user experience, and continuous improvement of all relevant services
  31. establish / maintain a strong partner & vendor management, regularly benchmarking both performance and mindset with alternatives on the market
  32. own management of severe incidents / large scale business disruption and high profile problem management across all digital workplace services, ensuring fast resolution, consistent communication and thorough lessons learned and rectification actions implementation
  33. regularly self critically review digital workplace cost position and identify cost reduction opportunities
  34. strong operational risk management with structured follow up on mitigation measures

Education / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology

Experience

  • Min 10 years of direct experience in IT and operation
  • Proven mid level leadership experience with credible strong potential for higher level management
  • High degree of passion, positivity, willingness for constructive conflict, strong people focus

  1. Technical passion - experience in multiple IT areas

  2. Strong negotiation and analytical skills with experience in discussing with vendors on solutions and root cause analysis

  3. Flexible to accommodate time-zones as teams are geographically dispersed

  4. Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills

  5. Ability to work both independently and in various team settings

  6. Good interpersonal skills and driving teams across regions to ensure smooth deliver
