Sr. Manager - International Sales
Core responsibilities: GSA Administration & Business Development at global offline territories
Responsibilities
- Assist the VP - International Sales, in preparing annual sales plans for both GSAs & trade, across all the assigned areas/ markets, distribution channels and segments and ensure that challenging revenue targets are set to achieve the overall airlines revenue objectives.
- Prepare annual cost budgets for your markets/ areas, to support marketing requirements. Provide inputs to management on policies and incentive programs, for optimizing sales through agents and corporate.
- Ensure trade sales/ revenue targets and costs are within the budgets for your assigned market and provide support and guidance to the local GSA sales team, with the objective of achieving their revenue targets.
- Develop sales from offline territories, globally.
- Overall GSA Administration. Raise RFPs, appointments of new GSAs and timely renewal process for GSA agreements and Bank Guarantee.
- GSA database management.
- Provide strategic direction to GSAs and sales managers on the development of new markets and customer segments with core focus on Corporate, SME, MICE, Leisure and specialist markets (e.g. Marine) in addition to VFR and labour.
- Provide timely and actionable MIS to Sales Manager/ GSAs ensuring that the revenues remain on track. Provide regular updates on forecast forward loads to facilitate effective sales planning to generate incremental revenue through tactical campaigns. Provide effective and regular feedback to HO departments regarding OAL practices/ product changes, which may negatively impact 6E's bottom line.
- Ensure that assigned GSAs/ markets/ agents are abreast of all the communication / updates and provide efficient services to agents in accordance with their business model. Services should include information on schedule, pricing, promotional schemes, changes in policies and other product updates.
- Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in key Travel Agencies, Corporate Houses, TMCs and DMCs ensuring that 6E is perceived as "preferred" airline with outstanding customer service and carrier of choice.
- Prove to be a self-motivated professional, guiding the GSA sales team members towards the target achievement of the local market.
- Evaluate, develop and implement (as appropriate) incremental distribution options, including but not limited to GDS participation, OAL cooperation (interline or codeshare), industry travel and / or Frequent Flyer arrangements or broader offline BSP participation.
- Maintain close co-ordination across all departments that support the sales through effort through either product or services including but not limited to Network Planning, RM, Finance, AOCS and IT with an aim to ensure better products and services to our customers.
- Be aware of and comply with his / her safety & security responsibilities and accountabilities as laid down in the IndiGo SMS Manual, Chapter Safety Policy and Objectives and IndiGo Security.
Requirements
- 8-10 years plus of work experience in Aviation / Allied Industries and a minimum of 5 years in a similar capacity.
- Proven track record of success in sales.
- Strong negotiation skills and result orientation.
- Understanding of the airline industry, competitive landscape, customer segments, distribution channels, and pricing strategies that shape the market.
- Sound communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Relationship building and stakeholder management skills to partner effectively with key external and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and deliver in a dynamic business context.
- Sound understanding of sales systems and technology platforms
- Strong MIS and data analytics skills.
- Strong MS Office skills (self-dependency in building professional presentations)
