Job Role & Responsibilities



Role:  Procurement of Paints, Chemicals, Oils, Lubricants, and similar parts



Responsibilities:

Procurement

New Product:

  • Understanding, Verification and Communicating technical specifications
  • Active involvements in Trials of paints and Oils at BAL
  • Negotiating with vendors,
  • Ensure cost effective supply as per Specified quality material.
  • Release of Purchase orders

Running Models:

  • Handling day-today commercial issues, R.M. fluctuations, Engineering change impacts. Logistic cost changes etc.
  • Periodic review of present cost & Negotiating for the cost reduction 
  • Release of Periodic Purchase order amendments.
  • Identification & Development of alternate sources, alternate Specifications, and materials for cost reduction
  • Initiate & Drive Cost saving, VAVE activities to achieve Cost saving targets.
  • Implementing engineering change, packing/logistic change at supplier end with help of PPC.

Vendor management :

  • Identifying and developing a reliable Vendor base
  • Following up on Production status / Capacities at Vendor locations
  • Monitoring quality with interaction with various internal agencies
  • monitoring processes, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective action.
  • Functioning as an interface between the PPC and Vendors to ensure that the production schedule is met and facilitating on time seamless delivery of shipments.

Competency Requirements



Commercial / Technical/ Functional:

  • Paint development / trials/ testing / approval process
  • Able to set targets for self as per the Organization/Department goals.
  • Good analytical ability, Has good knowledge in TPM.
  • Able to work with SAP ,MS Excel, Word & Power Point


Behavioral

  • Able to gel as a team player.


Specific expertise required for functional area:

Knowledge of complete paint / surface treatment systems, hand on practical experience of paint trials and approval process. Commercial understanding of Paints, Oils, lubricants, and other similar chemicals for input cost, manufacturing process and application technologies and Testing methodologies
