Business Development Associate

Role Summary:
The Business Development Associate/Academic Counsellor will guide prospective students through the entire admissions lifecycle—from enquiry to enrollment—by providing accurate information about programs, assessing student needs, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. The role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to meet enrollment targets in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Counsel students on available undergraduate and postgraduate programs, eligibility criteria, career outcomes, and fee structures.
- Manage enquiries through calls, emails, walk-ins, and digital channels; maintain high conversion rates at each funnel stage.
- Support students with application filling, documentation, and admissions formalities.
- Conduct career guidance sessions, webinars, and information seminars.
- Maintain accurate records on CRM and track performance metrics like lead response time, conversions, enrollment numbers, etc.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, school counselors, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams during events, campaigns, and lead-generation activities.
- Follow compliance standards, ensuring transparency and ethical counseling practices.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer-centric approach.
- Ability to explain programs clearly and handle student objections confidently.
- Goal-oriented mindset with proven ability to meet or exceed targets.
- Good understanding of higher education sector and admission processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and data tracking.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
- 1–5 years of experience in academic counseling, student advisory, or education sales.
- Experience in healthcare or allied education programs is a plus.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- May require occasional travel for outreach events or partner institution visits.
