Job Summary:

A Lathe Operator is responsible for operating manual or automatic lathe machines to shape metal or other materials according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate lathe machines for turning, facing, threading, and drilling operations.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Select and install the correct cutting tools, fixtures, and materials.
  • Inspect finished products using measuring tools (vernier, micrometer, gauges).
  • Ensure the dimensions and surface finish meet quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the machine.
  • Follow all safety and production procedures.
  • Report machine malfunctions or tool wear to the supervisor.

Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of lathe machine operations.
  • Ability to read mechanical and engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with measuring instruments.
  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Qualification:

  • ITI / Diploma in Turner, Fitter, or Mechanical Engineering.

Salary Range:

  • ₹15,500–₹28,800 per month (depending on experience and skill).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15, ₹28,880.00 per month
