Role & responsibilities

1. Strategic Manufacturing Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the manufacturing strategy aligned with the company's business objectives.
  • Oversee the entire manufacturing lifecycle of high-precision machine components, from raw material to finished goods.
  • Drive initiatives for capacity planning, resource optimization, and technology adoption to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

2. Operational Excellence & Systems Establishment:

  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Lead the adoption of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to eliminate waste and improve productivity.
  • Implement and oversee robust Production Planning and Control (PPC) systems to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Champion the use of ERP/MRP systems to streamline operations, inventory management, and data-driven decision-making.

3. High-Precision Component Manufacturing:

  • Provide expert oversight for machining and fabrication of complex, tight-tolerance components.
  • Ensure adherence to stringent technical specifications, drawings, and quality standards typical of aerospace and defense sectors.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure manufacturability of new products.

4. Quality, Compliance & Safety:

  • Instill a culture of "Zero Defects" and total quality management.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant national and international standards (e.g., NADCAP, AS9100, ISO).
  • Serve as the manufacturing lead for customer and regulatory audits.
  • Champion the highest standards of workplace safety, ensuring a zero-accident environment through proactive risk assessment and mitigation.

5. Team Management & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of production managers, engineers, supervisors, and shop-floor personnel.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Manage staffing, training, performance reviews, and skill development to build a world-class manufacturing team.

6. Budget & Cost Management:

  • Prepare and manage the annual manufacturing budget.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives without compromising on quality or safety, focusing on optimizing material usage, reducing scrap, and improving operational efficiency.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Engineering (R&D & Design), Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Projects departments to ensure seamless integration and execution.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, providing manufacturing input to ensure design for manufacturability and scalability.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 15 to 20 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, with a significant portion spent in high-precision machining, fabrication, or assembly.

Industry Background: Experience in Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, or Nuclear

manufacturing is highly desirable.
