Company Description

ArcelorMittal Green Energy is a 100% captive subsidiary of ArcelorMittal Netherland, established in the year 2022. Currently we have an operational capacity of 1 GW Greenfield project of renewable (hybrid) power in Andhra Pradesh with a couple of under construction projects at Rajasthan, Gujarat & Maharashtra. Our target is to achieve an installed capacity of 7 GW renewable power by 2030.

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with 6 - 8 years of experience in renewable energy, particularly in the captive and open access power space.

This position is responsible for monitoring, evaluating and pursuing opportunities in the renewable sector / new energies

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:

  • Develop and execute business strategies to expand the captive renewable energy portfolio (solar, wind, hybrid, and storage).

  • Contract Management:

  • Structure and negotiate long-term PPAs, Group Captive agreements, and related commercial contracts

  • Advisory Services:

  • Provide expert guidance on PPAs, REC (Renewable Energy Certificates), RPO (Renewable Purchase Obligations), and power transactions.

  • Offer investment assistance for renewable energy asset development.

  • Strategy:

  • Develop and implement power purchase and sales strategies based on regional policies and commercial opportunities..

  • Liaising and Networking:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Central and State Grid Authorities, Technical bodies and Regulators.

  • Attend industry and regulatory conferences to network and identify new PPA opportunities.

  • Renewable Energy Off-Take:

  • Provide advisory services for RE project development and investors, focusing on solar, wind, and hybrid projects.

  • Open Access and Captive Structuring:

  • Track policy, regulatory, and tariff changes affecting captive and open access markets to drive business growth.

Requirements:

  • Engineering degree with an MBA from UPES or NPTI, Faridabad is mandatory.
  • 6-8 years of experience in business development and power trading within the renewable energy sector.
  • Proven track record of closing high-value captive / Group Captive deals.
  • Expertise in commercial negotiations, power sale agreements, and tariff structures.
  • Knowledge of state-level policies, SLDC requirements, and DISCOM interactions.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with ability to analyse project viability.
  • Excellent proposal writing, presentation, and client engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
