Role & responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term relationships with key vendors.

  • Oversee the import process, including coordinating with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and ensuring compliance with import regulations.

  • Negotiate favorable terms, prices, and payment conditions with suppliers to optimize procurement costs.

  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement cost-saving initiatives.

  • Collaborate with stores team to maintain optimal stock levels and reduce excess inventory.- Implement inventory control measures to enhance efficiency and reduce carrying costs.

  • Work closely with internal team members to understand and meet their procurement needs.

  • Generate regular reports on procurement and import activities, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, assess supplier performance, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance, support, and fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews & Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.

    Preferred candidate profile - Proven experience as a Purchase Manager or in a similar procurement role, with a focus on import activities.

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a procurement team.

  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.

  • Proficiency in using ERP software
