Assistant Manager

Purpose of Role/Job Summary:
The assistant manager HR responsible for overseeing core HR functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and labour laws, and acting as a trusted advisor to both employees and management. This role will also focus on managing and guiding the recruitment staff while driving employee engagement, performance management, and overall HR operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Strategic HR Planning & Workforce Strategy
-Develop annual HR strategy aligned with business goals, production plans, and geographic expansion
.-Analyse manpower costs, project based budgets periodically
-Lead long-term manpower forecasting for new plants and capacity expansions.
2. Policy Creation & Governance Framework
-Periodically update and fine execution of enterprise
-level HR policies: attendance & shift governance ,OT policy,-Develop policy implementation mechanisms, audits, and compliance scoring matrices for all projects.
-Ability to translate operational issues into governance frameworks.
3. HR Systems, Automation & Process Improvement
-Super wise HRMS systems covering attendance, payroll logic, rosters, and driver tracking.-Build dashboards for key HR metrics
-attrition, manpower utilisation, compliance, productivity for management review.4. Compliance Governance & Risk Management
-Build a central compliance framework for PF, ESIC, CLRA, labour licenses, and contractor compliance.
-Conduct compliance audits across plants and evaluate contractor adherence to statutory obligations.
-Ensure statutory compliance and conduct internal HR audit.
5. Organization Development & Culture Building
-Design and support leadership programs for manager, leader and key personnel
-Lead and execute timely performance management: KPI design, goal-setting, appraisal cycles.
6. Training Strategy & Capability Development
-Create annual training plans based on organisational skill gaps and audit findings.
-Track training ROI using metrics like incident reduction, productivity uplift, and compliance stability.
-Induction Planning and onboarding
7. Workforce Analytics & Decision Support
-Convert data into strategic recommendations for the leadership team.
-Provide monthly HR insights to management, highlighting operational bottlenecks and workforce risks
.-Vendor Management
8. Senior-Level Stakeholder Management
-Partner with finance, operations, safety, and regional heads to align HR strategy with business goals.
-Advise leadership on labour risks, workforce stability, and HR interventions
.-Drive communication of HO HR policies across locations with consistency and clarity.
10. Exit Management
-Conduct exit interviews and analyse attrition trends.
-Manage clearance, document handover, asset return, and F&F initiation.
-Identify attrition hotspots and recommend preventive measures
Skills:
Soft Skills:
-Strong understanding of labour laws and contractor workforce management.
-Structured documentation and policy writing skills
.-Disciplined in maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation
Technical Skills:
-Proficient in HRMS platforms
-Spine, ZOHO, and Advanced Excel.
-Experienced in contractor licence applications, renewals, and compliance submissions.
Experience
-4-6 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in as team leader
-2–3 years (in infrastructure, EPC, Turnkey projects or related building material industries)
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
